Steps to Support Your Best Results

To minimize discomfort and reactions after your treatment, try these tips:

  • Limit sun exposure whenever possible.
  • Avoid massaging or rubbing the treated area.
  • Keep your head elevated while sleeping if swelling occurs.
  • Avoid vigorous exercise for 24 hours.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Follow any additional guidance from your injector.

What to Avoid

To reduce the risk of bruising, swelling, or other reactions, avoid the following before and immediately after your filler treatment:

  • Rubbing, pressing, or touching the treated area.
  • Applying makeup directly to the injection site for at least 24 hours.
  • Consuming alcohol prior to your procedure.
  • Taking blood-thinning medications or supplements for one week before treatment, including aspirin, warfarin, clopidogrel, NSAIDs, fish oil, vitamin E, St. John’s wort, garlic tablets, ginkgo biloba, and ginseng.

If side effects are not at least 50% improved within three days, contact your injector, as additional treatment (such as a prescription dose of steroids) may be necessary.

Mild post-treatment discomfort is temporary. Side effects should subside so you can enjoy your refreshed and enhanced facial features.

Most HA fillers last 9–12 months, but touch-ups may be done earlier to maintain your results
