I Have Rosacea, And Here’s What’s Actually Working for My Skin This April
April is Rosacea Awareness Month, and I want to be honest with you about something: I have rosacea too.
I know what it feels like to wake up and go straight to the mirror, already bracing yourself. The redness, the flushing, the unpredictable flare-ups that seem to have a mind of their own. I’ve tried the gentle cleansers, the “avoid your triggers” advice, the endless rotation of products that promised to calm my skin and mostly didn’t. For a long time, managing rosacea felt like a full-time job with very little payoff.
That experience is a big part of why I became so passionate about finding treatments that actually work, not just products that temporarily mask what’s happening, but clinical approaches that address rosacea at the root. And this month, I want to share what I’ve found.
What Rosacea Actually Is, And Why It’s So Hard to Treat
Rosacea is one of the most misunderstood skin conditions out there. It’s not just redness. It’s chronic inflammation beneath the surface, broken capillaries, a compromised skin barrier, and an immune system that’s constantly in a low-grade reactive state. Left unaddressed, it tends to worsen over time, not stabilize.
That’s why the standard advice of “avoid spicy food and wear SPF” only goes so far. Lifestyle modifications can help reduce flare frequency, but they don’t repair the underlying damage or interrupt the inflammatory cycle driving the condition. For that, we need more targeted tools.
The Treatment I Trust Most for Rosacea: IPL
Intense Pulsed Light therapy, or IPL, is one of the most effective clinical treatments available for rosacea and one I personally believe in. IPL uses broad-spectrum light to target the visible redness, broken blood vessels, and uneven pigmentation that rosacea leaves behind. It’s not a temporary fix. With a proper protocol, it creates lasting, visible improvement in skin tone and texture.
One thing I always emphasize with my patients: rosacea doesn’t stop at your jawline. The neck and chest are frequently affected too and treating them together creates results that look cohesive and natural, not patchwork.
This April, I’m offering IPL for the face, neck, and chest together for $500 — a $200 savings — along with a free enhancement of your choice, whether that’s a chemical peel, dermaplaning, or a hand add-on.
The Skincare Duo I Recommend Alongside IPL
No in-office treatment works in isolation — what you’re doing at home matters enormously. For my rosacea patients, two products I consistently recommend are Rozatrol and Daily Power Defense, and this month they’re 10% off when purchased together.
Rozatrol is one of the most clinically supported products I carry for rosacea-prone skin. It works to calm reactive, sensitized skin and visibly reduce redness over time. Daily Power Defense targets the skin barrier, which in rosacea patients is almost always compromised, helping to reduce that baseline reactivity that makes rosacea so exhausting to live with. Together, they extend and support your IPL results, keeping skin calmer between treatments.
Something New: GLOW & KLOW Injectable Peptide Therapy
Now for something I’ve been genuinely excited to share. We’ve just started offering GLOW and KLOW, two injectable peptide protocols that approach skin health in a way that most people haven’t encountered before…from the inside out.
If you’ve been hearing more about peptide therapy lately, there’s a good reason for it. Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules, telling your cells how to repair, rebuild, and regenerate. When injected, they can reach deeper tissue layers and produce structural changes that topical products simply can’t replicate.
GLOW is a regenerative injectable blend of three peptides — BPC-157, TB-500, and GHK-Cu. Each plays a distinct role. GHK-Cu stimulates collagen and elastin production, improves skin elasticity, and supports wound healing. BPC-157 promotes tissue repair and calms inflammation throughout the body. TB-500 supports connective tissue and enhances cellular recovery. Together, they work synergistically to produce firmer, smoother, more radiant skin over time, along with whole-body recovery benefits that go well beyond aesthetics.
KLOW builds on the GLOW protocol and adds one powerful peptide: KPV. KPV is a potent anti-inflammatory that works at a cellular level to interrupt the chronic inflammatory signaling driving many skin conditions. For anyone dealing with reactive skin, immune dysregulation, or rosacea, KLOW offers something GLOW alone doesn’t — targeted inflammation control alongside all of the regenerative benefits.
For my rosacea patients, KLOW is particularly worth a conversation. Because rosacea is fundamentally an inflammatory condition rooted in barrier dysfunction and immune reactivity, addressing it systemically (not just topically) can make a meaningful difference. Some practitioners use KLOW during active flares and GLOW during more stable periods, and I find that approach compelling for the right patients.
Both protocols are now available in the practice, and I’d love to walk you through which one makes sense for your skin and your goals.
